Prep school rivals square off in NHL Playoffs

Cory Schneider/Avon Old Farms

Jonathan Quick/Phillips Academy Andover

The Vancouver Canucks are the NHL’s most-hated franchise, and Roberto Luongo is the goalie that everyone loves to hate. The L.A. Kings have opened a 2-0 lead in their playoff series with the Canucks. Since Luongo can’t keep the puck out of the net, his backup Cory Schneider (Avon Old Farms) could get the call. If this happens, Schneider will face his former prep school rival, Jonathan Quick (Phillips Academy Andover).

Schneider and AOF lost to Quick in the NEPSAC finals during Schneider’s senior year. All of Canada is hoping for a repeat of that result.

Yes, I am a bit biased against the Canucks because I am a supporter of the reigning Stanley Cup Champs!
