TOWSON, Md. — Notre Dame Preparatory School plans to dedicate a field in honor of alumna Yeardley Love, a standout lacrosse player who was killed while attending the University of Virginia.

The Towson school said Thursday that the turf field will be dedicated Sept. 9 in a ceremony that will include prayers and remarks from the Love family and school representatives, as well as readings, music and a blessing of the field. The $1.2 million field will be used for field hockey, lacrosse and soccer.

Great move by ND Prep. Meanwhile, Yeardley’s murderer George Hughley V (who graduated from legendary prep school the Landon School in MD) was sentenced to 23 years in prison this week.
