God Forgives I Don’t

20120726-194701.jpg

Rick Ross’ God Forgives I Don’t is set to drop in a couple of days, but here at Twines & Vines we’re already bumping Teflon Don’s fifth studio album. (Thanks to our Palm Beach & Miami hookup.) Highlights include Pirates, 3 Kings and Diced Pineapples. Features include MMG’s own Meek Mill, Wale and Stalley, Andre 3000, Hov, Dre, John Legend, Drake amongst others. I must admit, GFID strays from Ross’ traditional bangers in favor of some jazz infused smoother tracks including production by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. This isn’t to say there aren’t bangers, but be warned you are in for a surprise. All in all this will be the soundtrack of August. Since the album has not been officially released, I cannot link to the songs, but I recommend downloading when it’s released on July 31st.

Mystery Mac Miller

Here’s a song I stumbled across from Mac that has no apparent origin. I’m pretty confident that it’s off of SOUR HOUR but it seems to be a bit of a floater.  Regardless, you can hear it here on Soundcloud and it’s definitely one of those late night songs to cruise to with the boys, headin’ to sleep type of song.  I’m diggin’ it, are you?

Wiz and 50 Cent Colab

I’m betting a lot of you have already heard this but in case you missed this colab, here you go.  Its good to see such different artists go in on a track like this every once in a while.  Give it a shot. Good “For The Boys” type of song. Ride slow to “Telescope”…Enjoy

Swimming Pools

Kendrick goes absolutely in on his new single “Swimming Pools (Drank)” off his mixtape Swimming Pools (Drank). Keep a close eye on him, his first studio album drops in October.  Good song to ride to or play late night…Enjoy

The Adventures of trueprep Start Now

Hey everyone! My name is Sarah and this is my first post as the newest T&V girl editor. I’ll be taking you all along with me on my summer adventures on the Cape, in the Hamptons, and anywhere else life takes me. I’m a preppy kid from the north *gasp* who loves Lilly, lacrosse, sailing, and boys in bow ties. I can’t wait to share my music, tastes, and lifestyle with you!

♥ Stay Preppy

BY THE WAY

I realize that there is a new Preppy Handbook called “True Prep” but that is purely incidental and I did not realize that was the name of the sequel until I had already adopted the name but feel free to check it out anyway.

Local Jamz

I’ve been away from the T&V team for a bit but during this time I discovered an absolute GEM! Aer is a local band (close to my prep school at least) from Wayland, Mass. They’ve got some stuff on itunes and a free album floating around out there (The Reach), but my favorite song is by far Feel I Bring.  Enjoy this one on your yacht!

Avicii – Silhouettes

Avicii just released the official video for Silhouettes. Similar to other house music videos, it is very different, but, as usual an unreal progressive house beat by Avicii. This track has great vocals that will be stuck in your head.

New Beats from Avicii. This Progressive House song is sure to make your speakers bumb in the locker room before and after a game. Avicii comes to the TD Garden June 15 and he will put together a great set.

Prep school video of the week

Teachers at The Rivers School in Weston, MA with a flash mob performance of “Call Me Maybe”

You can easily see which teachers had experience at the legendary prep school dances when they were in middle school and which ones didn’t.

Classic Mr. Caplan.

In a related story, The Rivers School was ranked as the 21st best high school in the country in an article in the Washington Post. I’ll bet that the author did that rating before he knew about Twines & Vines.
