Prep-ify Your Sunglasses with Croakies

Two favorite things of a prepster: preppy items and summer. Why not mix the two? With spring and summer just around the corner, more and more people will be wearing sunglasses. The best way to prep-ify your sunglasses? Using Croakies. Croakies are a great way to make sure your sunglasses (and glasses!) don’t fall. Not only do Croakies prevent sunglasses from falling but also just look good.

croakies

There are many different brands of Croakies,  but my two favorite are Lilly Pulitzer for the ladies (isn’t that obvious?) and Vineyard Vines for the gentlemen. Lilly Pulitzer doesn’t have Croakies in my favorite pattern (devastating, right?), but the two patterns on the left, Resort White Chiquita Bonita and Flutter Blue Lucky Charm, are just as fabulous. As for the gentlemen, the traditional silver and navy blue are the way to go. I also enjoy the “Every day should feel this good” Vineyard Vines Croakies as well.

In order to add that pop your sunglasses need, investing in a pair of Croakies will add just the right touch.

Prep School Fashion Blogs

We were surfing along Google trying to find a new cover photo for the Facebook page when we stumbled upon The Exeter Dress Code, a student run blog focused on “street style” found on the Exeter campus.  You would expect to see this kind of blog focused on NYFW, not New England prep schools, but alas with some further digging we were able to find a number of these blogs.  Without further adieu here is a list of prep school fashion blogs.  If you run one, or your school runs one which is not featured on our list, please comment so we can add you to the list!

With no given bias, the men of St. Paul’s really seem to be stepping up their fashion this winter.  Keep it up; we are impressed.

Spring Threads

Since Punxsutawney Phil indicated the upcoming seasonal change, it’s time to add a few new threads to your Spring wardrobe.

Indian Cotton Shirt — J.Crew

Whether you’re an online shopper (boarding students) or live a convenient 20 minutes from the nearest J.Crew (day students), every guy should be adding a few new button downs to their wardrobe. The J.Crew shirts have patterns to layer with solid sweaters, and also come in brighter colors for brighter days.

New Years Eve Attire

I know it isn’t even Christmas yet, but it’s time to discuss what we will be wearing for New Years Eve.  If you’re The Boss, that consists of sweatpants, Timbs and a lax pinny; the rest of us who will actually be celebrating need to be celebrating in style.

I myself will be headed to New York City on the 30th for Afrojack & Diplo at Pier 94.  You can catch me rocking the Zara bordeaux velvet blazer.  Coming in at $69.99, this cheap evening necessity looks great and is disposable.  Spilled champagne? – no problem for it’s so cheap it really doesn’t matter.

Velvet is a must for this season’s formal wear.  I have a higher end black velvet blazer which I will be wearing the next evening clubbing, as one cannot wear the same piece twice in a row.   Take more care with the high end pieces – only spill expensive champagne on them. Pick up your disposable velvet over at Zara.com.

You Want Game?

Game’s new album is unreal. I’m a huge fan of his flow, but I see you all out there who don’t listen to him. He’s a little hard I admit it.  Check this song though, it shows a different side of him for sure. Plus you got Cole to balance him out. Enjoy!
