Get the flow goin'

Traditional Strings just released their Traditional Circle Bar Hat! As you should know, the fall is where the flow begins for lacrosse players. The clean cut men you saw on campus for fall yearbook photos must transition into athletes. In most cases, flow comes in four stages: 1. The wings 2. Lettuce 3. Flow 4. Overflow. Metal slider adjustable hats are perfect for the early stages of flow before you must whip out the snapbacks, fitted, and occasional beanies.

The TS Traditional Circle Bar Hat is perfect for steps 1 and 2 of the stages of flow, so get yours going today.

Here’s a song I haven’t heard in a while but just stumbled across it the other day and it brought back some old memories. Enjoy!

Dead Poet’s Society: Where are they now?

I found a great section in the NY Daily News called WATN, or Where Are They Now?

Check out this one on Dead Poet’s Society, a classic boarding school movie.

DPS Trivia (thanks Wikipedia!): The story is set at the fictional Welton Academy in Vermont in the 1950s, and was filmed at St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, Delaware. The script, written by Tom Schulman, is based on his life at Montgomery Bell Academy, an all-boys preparatory school in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dad attacks his son with a sword for being lazy

From LA Times.com

A Ventura man was arrested Sunday after police said he attacked his 18-year-old son with a sword, accusing him of being lazy and not doing chores around the house.

Antonio Gutierrez, 43, was in a heated argument with his son, John, when he picked up a 4-foot-long sword, police said. The son tried to use his hands to defend himself, police said, but his hand was lacerated by the blade and he bled profusely.

When officers arrived at the family’s residence, the father had left, police said, but he returned several hours later and was arrested and booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

Yes, I know that this video has nothing to do with a dad attacking his son with a sword. It’s just a way to slip in a “Kill Bill I” fight scene.

Do you think that the 18 year old John Gutierrez could have picked up a lax stick or baseball bat to stop the sword? Using your hands seems pretty dumb.

Loomis Chaffee coach fights through cancer

October 05, 2011|By LORI RILEY, lriley@courant.com, The Hartford Courant

WINDSOR — — Being diagnosed with breast cancer wasn’t going to stop Bobbi Moran from coaching the Loomis Chaffee field hockey team this fall.

But after she was in a moped accident in August — well, one of her friends felt like they had to have a little talk with her.

“It was about a month and a half ago, just before preseason started,” Moran said. “I was laying in bed, I couldn’t really move anything. She was like, ‘Bobbi, enough already, you’ve got to slow down. Please, please take it easy. Take a leave of absence.’ ”

“I thought, ‘OK, but I don’t want to give up field hockey. These kids, I love these kids. They make me so happy. Is there a way I can do this, just the coaching thing, but not the work thing?’ ”

That is one tough coach. No way that there are any players complaining about running sprints.
